Nollywood stars Toyin Abraham, Iyabo Ojo, and Muyiwa Ademola have announced the release dates for their latest films, ‘Iyalode’, ‘Labake Olododo’, and ‘Ori, respectively.
The filmmakers revealed that ‘Iyalode’ will hit cinemas on June 6, 2025, ‘Labake Olododo’ is set for March 28, 2025, while ‘Ori’ will be released on May 1, 2024.
The trio made the announcement on Wednesday at the FilmOne Exhibitors Showcase in Lagos.
“Iyalode is coming to cinemas on the 6th of June, and our advanced screening is on the 4th,” Toyin Abraham said.
‘Iyalode’ features a star-studded cast, including Kehinde Bankole, Iyabo Ojo, Bukky Wright, Muyiwa Ademola, Wale Ojo, and Kolawole Ajeyemi. Directed by Adebayo Tijani, ‘Iyalode’ has been generating buzz since filming wrapped up in July 2024.
Speaking on ‘Labake Olododo’, Iyabo Ojo said, “‘Labake Olododo’ is coming up on March 28, the premiere is going to be on the 23rd of March, and then the movie will be in all cinemas nationwide. So many things are unique—the storyline, the costumes, the area. Everything about the movie is unique, everything about it.”
The movie is directed by award-winning filmmaker Biodun Stephen.
Muyiwa Ademola, speaking on his much-anticipated movie ‘Ori’ said, “‘Ori’ is as deep as Ori (head). You could see that somebody said in the crowd that she watched it while she was four. So the ‘Ori’ I shot 22 years ago, people watched while they were 10, and they were crying. They understood. Some people are watching again now because the old ‘Ori’ is over 22 years. There’s never been a day that I will go out as a filmmaker, and people will not talk to me, ask questions about ‘Ori’, like, why don’t I produce it for the new generation, generations yet unborn, so they can have a grasp of that heavy concept.
“‘Ori’ as a film has everything you want—comedy, suspense, and much more,” he added. In this article
